The half-life of pastries
The firm provides us with breakfast in the mornings. Breakfast consists of fruit, coffee, and an assortment of bagels, muffins and other pastries from local bakeries. I have noticed in recent weeks that the muffins and scones seem to have a half-life of about half a day. Shortly after they arrive, someone will slice a muffin in half. Sometime between 10:00AM and 2:00PM, someone else will cut the remaining half in half. The remaining quarter is not often taken. Scones and other pastries are usually only halved once. I have half of an asiago bagel. It is yummy.
